FLIGHT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT
Jetlantic Virtual Airways is managed and overseen by its Flight Operations Department. This department is comprised of a Flight Operations Director, who is responsible for the management and strategic planning of the airline, assisted by the Flight Operations Executives. Also in the Flight Operations Department are the Chief Pilot and the Training Director. The technical aspects of the airline and website are managed by the IT Department.
FLIGHT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

António is the founder and owner of Jetlantic Virtual Airways. An enthusiastic flight simmer since the days of FS3.1 and more seriously involved since FS98, he has accumulated more than 4000 hours of flight. Having been involved with virtual airlines since 2003 in various capabilities, Jetlantic is his first experience in VA management, giving him an opportunity to enjoy different aspects of VA life, besides being Jetlantic's fleet painter. António is currently type-rated on the following aircraft: Boeing B737 (Classic and NG – all variants), B757, B767 and B777.
Flight Operations Director's responsibilities:
- public representation of the airline
- determining the airline's operational structure and human resources needs
- planning of the airline route structure and network
- maintaining the required aircraft fleet
- deciding on the implementation of technical solutions and training materials
- supervision and management of pilots' records and accounts
- attribution of awards to pilots
- supervision of any internal disputes involving company staff
- final decision on any disciplinary action
CHIEF PILOT
Pedro Berimbau

Pedro started his PPL training in 2006 at LPMA, at the age of 17. Currently he has around 160 hours and more than 500 landings (most of them at LPMA) and he is working to obtain his frozen ATPL. Pedro Started in the flight sim world using FS2000, and since then his interest in FS has been growing. It has played a major role in his flight training by helping him to understand aircraft systems and operation. Currently he is using FS2004 and likes to fly as many airplanes as possible, from small GA aircraft to the PMDG MD-11 and 747. Jetlantic is the first and only virtual airline he ever joined.
Chief Pilot's responsibilities:
- cooperation in the general management of the airline
- representing the airline before IVAO and VATSIM
- overseeing of the airline's online flying activities
- organization of online flying events
- orientation and counseling of pilots on line flying
- identification and reporting of operational problems faced by pilots
- recommendation of awards for pilots
- identification and reporting of any disputes involving airline's pilots
FLIGHT OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE
Dinarte Branco

Dinarte started simming in 2005 with FS9, having accumulated more than 3000 hours of virtual flying since then. Having flown online for the first time in 2007, he is also a keen virtual Air Traffic Controller, with more than 525 hours of virtual ATC split by the two major virtual traffic networks. He enjoy a lot learning how to fly in the most proficient way possible aircraft that interest him, namely instrument, visual and emergency procedures. His favourite aircraft are Boeing and Boeing McDonnell Douglas, although he also appreciates Airbus aircraft's performance and procedures. In the real world, he works in airport operations.
Flight Operations Executive's responsibilities:
- assisting in the development of new fleets, routes and hubs
- evaluation of aircraft performance in route development
- evaluation of operational restrictions of airfields
- evaluation of fleet use and optimization margins
- supervision of pilots' records and accounts
TRAINING DIRECTOR
Thomas Nilson

Thomas started to fly 1978 with a PPL license. After that he took the CPL and ATP with different ratings like CFI and CFII. In 1983 he joined his first airline, flying the B58 and later the King Air 350. He is currently type-rated on the Airbus 320, 321 and 330 and has around 12.500 hours. His first contact with flightsim was through FS98. As a real pilot he used it to find his way around airports wich sometimes is the hardest part. Thomas is now retired after many years of flying, but still enjoys taking an aircraft for a spin in FS. His favourite aspect of FS is being able to try aircraft he didn't fly in real life, and his favourite is the PMDG MD-11.
Training Director's responsibilities:

IT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Greg is the IT Development Manager of Jetlantic Virtual Airways. He has over 10 years' experience developing web-based and desktop applications and sites using ASP.Net C#, PHP /MySQL, JavaScript, Sql Server and Visual Basic. As a simmer, he has been involved with Flight Simulator since 3.1. His first experiences as an FS developer were creating add-on sceneries for FS5, followed by the design and repainting of several FS aircraft and gauges, as well as being co-founder of Southern Pacific Airways VA in the mid 90's. In 2010 he will start working on some FSX addons using C# and Sql Server.
IT Development Manager's responsibilities:
- maintenance and development of the airline's website
- supervision of the content management systems
- technical support of the Flight Operations Department
- troubleshooting and technical support for pilots
- design, development and implementation of technical solutions for the airline
- continued systems analysis and reporting on the airline's IT structure
