Jetlantic Virtual Airways is a virtual airline based at Madeira Airport, in Madeira Island, Portugal. It was founded in 2010, taking advantage of the market liberalization of air routes connecting Madeira to the rest of the Portuguese territory. Motivated by the desire to progress and expand while providing the best virtual aviation experience possible, Jetlantic's operation has grown continuously, supported by a vast and versatile fleet, well suited to the challenges provided by its impressive network of scheduled and charter routes.
Against this backdrop, we have been constantly working to make flying for Jetlantic a unique experience. We understand that pilots are the most important part of any virtual airline, and by understanding their motivations and passions, we remain committed to our concepts of what a virtual airline should ideally be made of:

Accessibility

Jetlantic is open to all pilots, regardless of age, experience, gender or nationality, and there are no requirements of previous experience. Pilots are evaluated swiftly through our accessible entry exams (written and flying) and, from the moment they are approved, they are allowed to fly any aircraft or route of their choice. More experienced pilots will feel at home right away, while those with less experience will find a diversity of training materials and learning aids to help them. Furthermore, our staff team is always available to help all pilots with their needs, ensuring everyone is able to integrate and progress smoothly in their careers within Jetlantic for a rewarding experience.

Flexibility

We understand that flight simulation is a hobby. Regardless of the realism intended, it should never become an obligation, nor do we want to exclude interested pilots because of rigid rules. We understand that many pilots – against their will – don't get as many opportunities or time to fly as they'd like. That is why we have a tolerant approach, the minimum flying being one flight every 60 days. Likewise, we understand that pilots have different tastes as to how they fly – some fly all their flights online, others prefer to fly offline, and others do both. No one should be excluded because of this, and that is why we give freedom of choice to our pilots – both online (IVAO or VATSIM) and offline flights are permitted.

Support

There's much more to a VA than just having pilots flying around and building hours. We believe a VA should be a place and an opportunity for improvement, where pilots can learn new things and progress by benefitting from planned support in a dynamic group environment. As such we provide our pilots with several tools, from support material and exclusive manuals to useful software. We are constantly in the process of improving and updating our support materials, always looking to meet the needs of our pilots and enhance and develop their experience.

Realism

Yes, realism also plays a big part in a good flight simulation experience. Not by making it hard, but by gradually improving and giving pilots an enjoyable sense of realism. For us, the cornerstone is the flying itself, and that is why we have opted exclusively for payware add-on models as the basis of our fleet. With exclusive handmade Jetlantic textures, our aircraft will make your experience unique. We also offer full technical support and means to make our pilots' experience an excellent one, from exclusive ACARS and automated pilot evaluation systems to operations manuals, which will make your flying as exclusive and rewarding as never before.

Achievements

One of the things that are more enjoyable in being part of a VA is the sense of achievement. We understand that, and that is why we strive to offer our pilots a rewarding and inspiring career path. With a well-balanced career structure, Jetlantic pilots can advance through a series of ranks from Cadet to Fleet Captain, with the chance of being invited to join the Jetlantic staff team. In addition, pilots are also eligible for a series of awards that recognize their achievements, not only through flying but through their professionalism and dedication to the airline as well.

Community

Above all, in Jetlantic we want everyone to feel at home, motivated, and as an important part of a community. We want to encourage a culture of personal development, shared effort and friendship between all our pilots and staff. We want communication to be clear and easy, and as a part of this effort we have developed the Jetlantic forum where everyone can gather and exchange ideas and questions or simply have a good laugh. We want everyone to truly feel part of Jetlantic and to share a sense of purpose in contributing to the airline's growth and development, while immersed in an atmosphere that is welcoming and friendly.

The main rule is: have fun! Because that's really what it's all about...
